The Year Of Good Christian Connections

The world is getting very real and fast. While many of us Christians may have learned the truth, but we are not given enough time to pray, meditate and reflect through in our lives. And the last thing the world would want to do to us is to make us feel that the Word of God is irrelevant and that it only stays in the church. Therefore, the Word cannot simply stay in our head, nor can it only be in the church. It must bring transformation and connect to every aspect of our lives.

* There are missing links in our Christian lives that if it is not connected well, we will find ourselves always helpless and unproductive in Christian living.

1. The World we are living in

1) Getting very fast

2) Getting very real

3) Getting very easily accessible

  •  The Church must build a culture where the world cannot stand up against.
  • Namely: The culture of word, of love and of witnessing.

2. The 3 critical connections to pray for in year 2019

1) Connection between the word and transformation

  • <Ro 12:2> Be transformed by the renewing of your mind
  • True Gospel living is always about changing the Heart, not the behavior.

2) Connection between meetings and living

  • <Heb 10:24-25>: And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

3) Relational connection between Christian brethren

  • <Ro 12:9-10> Love must be sincere…  Be devoted to one another in love…
  • <Ro 12:15> Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
  • <Ro 14:1> Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.
  • <Ro 15:1> We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

3. 5 concrete things to work on as we come for church meetings

1) Come to church with preparedness

2) Come and take ownership

3) Come for a community, not just service

4) Come with things to pray for

5) Come to give more than to receive

  • <Acts 20:35-36>: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and prayed.
