Jesus Brings Peace In Times Of Doubts
Verses to read:
<Luke 24: 36-45>
1. The unbelief of even true believers <v38>.
- Unbelief is a serious problem, even among believers.
-Look at circumstances instead of God.
-Troubled by our own desires.
-Having our own assumptions.
-Irony of “too good to be true”.
—>Deep sense of worthlessness.
—>“Pessimism” of fallen man.
Unbelief takes away right expectations of God.
Unbelief > Misconstrued reality > Wrong conclusions > Bad decisions > Consequences
2. Jesus said, “Peace be with you” <v36>.
The greatest gift Jesus can offer us is peace with God.
Jesus’ word is power (will be fulfilled)
Do you hear Jesus saying the same words, “Peace be with you!” today?
Jesus appeared to the disciples at their most undeserving moments.
The disciples are not role models, but God’s grace is generous.
Have you experienced the impact of Jesus’ visit?
Jesus comes when we need, and when we meet.
3. How should we respond?
Turn our cares into prayers.
“Faith in Jesus is the best cure for every care.” – Charles Spurgeon
2) Word <v44-45; Ro 10:17>.
“Half our fears arise from neglect of the Bible.” – Spurgeon
Know God (word) > Communicate with God (pray) > Walk with God (life)
What is the ratio of joy/peace VS worries/fear in your life each day? Why are you still disturbed and distracted even though the risen Christ is with you?
To enjoy the power of resurrection, we need to know His word, how much do you understand and cherish the word of God? How is the Word the foundation of your thought/belief system and your living?
