Worship Wednesdays: RUN TO THE FATHER by CODY CARNES | "I've carried a burden For too long on my own I wasn't created To bear it alone I hear Your invitation To let it all go Yeah I see it now I'm laying it down And I know that I need You
I run to the Father I fall into grace I'm done with the hiding No reason to wait My heart needs a surgeon My soul needs a friend So I'll run to the Father Again and again And again and again
You saw my condition Had a plan from the start Your Son for redemption The price for my heart And I don't have a context For that kind of love I don't understand I can't comprehend All I know is I need You
My heart has been in Your sights Long before my first breath Running into Your arms Is running to life from death And I feel this rush deep in my chest Your mercy is calling out Just as I am You pull me in And I know I need You now" ...
Campus Sessions: BE DIRECTED AND STRENGTHENED BY TRUTH | To flourish in this world is not about having good grades or comfort, but to possess true spiritual strength. Only then, can we not be carried away by earthly realities or our feelings. Even if what we feel is right, feelings cannot give us strength, only God's unchanging truth will. God's truth still stands behind every earthly reality; God is still with His people, with intention to bless them through what they encountered. When we have the heart to seek God's truth, be directed by it and obey it, then we will naturally find strength to face anything that comes our way.
TBR English Service: LET US LIVE UP TO WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY ATTAINED | (Spoken by Pastor Vincent and Translated to English by Preacher Hui Jun) In the lesson of faith, if there are no trials of many kinds, faith certainly cannot possibly move to the stage of being mature and complete. However, whenever practical trials come, we will face the spiritual battle that no one desires. Especially, with this pandemic, our faith is constantly being refined and tested. Perhaps the majority view and sentiment hopes that believers do not even meet in groups of ten and below. Certainly, not everyone can withstand such pressure, but the Lord’s word tells us, “Let us live up to what we have already attained.”
Worship Wednesday: IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL by AUDREY ASSAD | As the numbers are peaking for the Coronavirus cases around the world, fear seeps into our souls and gives us unrest, uncertainties and worry for those we love. Yet, the words of Horatio Spafford holds greater meaning in times like this. We do not just claim that "it is well" for the sake of lip service, but because we are confirming that this is the time to make our faith real, to grow in love, in trust and in hope of who God is and that whatever He does, we have a blessed assurance of His plans. May this song restore the peace within us amid the world's voices.
"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!" ...
Campus Sessions: NOT VAGUE, BUT CONCRETE IN FAITH | Why are some believers stagnant in their faith, or lacking spiritual breakthroughs or sweet intimacy in their walk with God? It could be because they have been leading a vague and ambivalent faith living. If God and His word remain abstract to us, we cannot enjoy the full power and joy of being a child of God. We need to restore a concrete and effective faith through setting clear spiritual goals, restoring concrete prayers, having concrete actions and targeting concretely at the enemy.
TBR English Service: YOU ARE BLESSED BY THE LORD | "Blessed by God", yet our circumstances do not seem to match this? What is the definition of "blessing"? How would a child of God be blessed? The truth is, believers of Jesus are indeed blessed, yet whenever we lose the assurance of Immanuel (God with us), we will lose the joy and power that we should rightfully enjoy. Though God's blessings also include outward tangible ones, we cannot simply define divine blessings by those. Trials and divine discipline are also God's ways of blessing and loving us. Through this sermon, let us confirm God's blessings once again.
Worship Wednesdays: CHRIST BE MAGNIFIED by CORY ASBURY (originally by Cody Carnes) | "Were creation suddenly articulate With a thousand tongues to lift one cry Then from North to South and East to West We'd hear Christ be magnified
Were the whole earth echoing His eminence His name would burst from sea and sky From rivers to the mountain tops We'd hear Christ be magnified
Oh! Christ be magnified Let His praise arise Christ be magnified in me Oh! Christ be magnified From the altar of my life Christ be magnified in me
When every creature finds its inmost melody And every human heart its native cry Oh then in one enraptured hymn of praise We'll sing Christ be magnified Oh be lifted high, Jesus
I won't bow to idols, I'll stand strong and worship You And if it puts me in the fire, I'll rejoice 'cause You're there too I won't be formed by feelings, I hold fast to what is true If the cross brings transformation then I'll be crucified with You
'Cause death is just the doorway into resurrection life And if I join You in Your suffering then I'll join You when You rise And when You return in glory with all the angels and the saints My heart will still be singing and my song will be the same" ...
TBR English Service: JACOB & ESAU- A LOOK INTO GOD'S ELECTION & HUMAN FOLLY | Which comes first in salvation? Did we first believe in Jesus thus we are saved? Or were we first elected by God thus we could be saved in the end? From the example of Jacob and Esau, it is clear that salvation first came from God rather than any human factor. But while God offers grace, let us not be foolish to miss out on His grace. Often, when we exaggerate our needs and feelings and pursue instant gratification, we fall into folly. But the word of God can make us wise for salvation. Thus, may we treasure the word of God and take it seriously, so that we can stay on the course of wisdom.
